Understanding a changing world

Connecting the Korean Peninsula, Asia and the wider world through independent research on geopolitics, public policy and the forces shaping our shared future.

Areas of focus

Four connected programmes organise the work. Each links regional developments with a specific set of policy questions rather than treating countries or sectors in isolation.

Inside the research

From a question to a clearer perspective

Complex issues deserve more than a headline. Explore the context, test the evidence and consider what different outcomes could mean.

About KIG
  1. Start with a precise question

Define the decision, geographical scope and period under review. A focused question makes clear which evidence is relevant and which issues fall outside the work.

  2. Read across sources

Compare public documents, data and regional-language accounts. Identify the author, publication date and limitations of each source, and retain disagreements that matter to the analysis.

  3. Make the reasoning visible

Explain how evidence supports a finding, what alternative interpretations remain and what new information could change the assessment.
